Young Leader Module A Project

I betcha this is the last thing on your list with all those exams and everything! I think the way to see it, is a well deserved break from all your hard work revising! I cannot remember the author who said something like "the most urgent thing you can possibly do, is take a complete rest". I'll substitute 'rest' for 'something different', or 'scouting'.

I have had word from those above that you, yes you, agreed to complete the Module A Project by mid June. The project must be passed by our District Commissioner, in order for you to earn that well deserved YL badge! (and be able to go away camping with the younger sections).

Time is upon us, so in good scouting spirit I'd thought I'd help direct your thoughts.

Here is a link to the Young Leaders Scheme as a reminder of what you are actually doing! You may remember that Module A covered Child Protection, POR, Safety, the purpose and method of the Scout Association. For validation you had to complete either a risk assessment of our meeting place, or an activity.

The form is available for download if you have mislaid yours.

At this point I can see you scratching your head, so how about having a look at the risk assessment I did for shooting. Of course you can't just churn that out, but certainly may give you an idea of what to include.
Have a think about all the activities we do at Scouts, such as: Archery, Bellboating, Biking, Cooking, Climbing, First aid, Gang shows, Geocaching, Hiking, Kabaddi, and need I go on? There are plenty of individual activities you can risk assess.

I did have a quick google for scouting risk assessments, and this was the top hit, and the Scout Association have advice and examples too! So I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something.

Don't delay, I need these forms back before Friday 19th July, then I can send them on.
Any questions just email. Don't sit on this, lets get it done!
